Euler's "core-changing door" continues to ferment: the Great Wall again declares that the car owner is dissatisfied with the compensation plan of 400 million yuan.

The Great Wall car Ola good cat "core door" incident, which lasted for a month, fermented again. On December 8, Great Wall Motor once again issued a statement, giving each good cat owner a "rights package" of 7200 yuan and a compensation of 10000 yuan.

However, in the face of a "big gift bag" totaling more than 400 million yuan from the Great Wall, some good cat owners were not satisfied and still asked Great Wall Motor to "refund one for three," and said they reserved the right to further resort to law.

"the requirement of 'return one for three' put forward by some car owners, because it is a car engine system, affects the driving experience, and does not affect the main characteristics of the vehicle as a means of transportation, so it is unlikely that the whole vehicle will return one for three." Hao Qingfeng, deputy secretary-general of the Law Society for the Protection of Consumer Rights and interests of the China Law Society, told reporters that the court will determine its nature in accordance with the law when trying such cases, subject to the final judgment. "

It is clear that the chip cannot be replaced.

In early November, a female owner of an Ola cat complained to Euler after she found that the model she bought did not support CarPlay, a car system linked to mobile entertainment. After the manufacturer replied that this function could not be added, its self-test found that the Ola cat processing chip had been "replaced".

Since its launch, Ola good Cats has been advertised as using Qualcomm's eight-core chip, but after testing by car owners, it uses the old Intel quad-core A3940 chip released in 2016. The chip's performance is backward and its compatibility is poor, which is completely inconsistent with the official propaganda, and the car owner questioned Euler's suspicion of false propaganda and consumer fraud.

On November 17, Euler Motor responded for the first time that it had set up a special working group to investigate. For the demands of car owners, Euler Motor decided to speed up the configuration of CarPlay and HiCar functions on the basis of the original product development plan of Euler Cats, and upgrade OTA functions for users free of charge. But at this time, Euler did not respond positively to the situation that the chip had been "stolen."

Five days later, on November 22, Euler issued a statement again, saying, "the Oula good cat model currently on sale will be on the market in 2020, and it is true that the car has not yet been equipped with Qualcomm 8 core chips." In the plan, this configuration was originally scheduled to be carried on future models. In this statement, Euler proposed to give car owners 7200 yuan "rights package" solution.

This is also the first time that Euler has admitted that the good cat model does not have a Qualcomm 8155 chip.

However, for Euler's response, some car owners are not satisfied, and spontaneously formed a "rights protection group" to fight for greater rights and interests. These rights and interests advocated by some car owners include "return one to compensate three", "replace the chip" and a higher amount of compensation, and so on.

"popularly speaking, whether the application of the machine-side chip is advanced or not will directly affect the car owner's experience of using it. But what kind of chip to use is not a decisive factor, and it also has a lot to do with the matching of software and hardware. " Some employees in the automobile industry said.

The demand of some good cat owners to "replace the chip" comes from this point. According to a complaint platform, many car owners found problems such as stuttering of the Ola cat machine, inability to update the version of APP, inaccurate face recognition, drift of navigation and positioning, and inability to save kinetic energy recovery settings.

"the replacement of the chip cannot be realized, because the whole system of the car needs to match the chip, and it is not as simple as replacing the chip." Some Great Wall insiders made it clear that the chip could not be upgraded.

An internal investigation is under way

In addition to the poor sense of use caused by the chip problem, what is even more dissatisfied with some good cat owners is the false propaganda behavior of Great Wall cars.

According to public information, Ola Hao Cat was officially launched in November last year, based on the pure electric architecture of Great Wall Automobile Lemon platform and equipped with Great Wall Automobile Coffee Intelligent platform.

Great Wall Coffee Intelligence, which was first launched in July last year, is a complete vehicle intelligent brand of Great Wall, covering intelligent cockpit, intelligent driving and intelligent electronic and electrical architecture, and is an intelligent system for future travel. According to Great Wall's plan, the Great Wall Weipai Mocha, which went on sale in May this year, will be equipped with Qualcomm's third-generation 8155 chip smart cockpit after it becomes the first model in the world. Qualcomm 8155 chips will be installed on Great Wall tanks and Ola good cats and other models one after another.

However, in the previous promotion of Euler's products, Great Wall claimed that Euler was equipped with coffee intelligent vehicle control system, and its intelligent service processing platform used Qualcomm professional on-board chips, with eight KryoTMCPU processing cores, a Qualcomm ®AdrenoTM 640GPU GPU and a high-performance HexagonTM 6DSP digital signal processor.

In the product parameter configuration table after the launch of Ola good cat, with the exception of the Muse version, other models of intelligent service processing platforms all use Qualcomm professional on-board chips.

"the intelligent service processing platform mentioned in the Ola good cat configuration table only wrote Qualcomm and did not write all the chips in the Sanzhi system, which caused trouble to users." The official explanation of Great Wall Automobile said, "the correct expression should write chips such as Qualcomm, Intel, Renesas, etc., and separate the three-intelligence system of the intelligent service processing platform, what chip is the car machine, what chip is the interconnection, and so on. I believe it will not cause trouble to users."

In addition, another Great Wall insider told reporters that after learning from technicians that 8155 chips could not be loaded until this year, the tank brand revised the propaganda page accordingly, "but somehow, good Cat did not modify it." The person said that an investigation is under way inside the Great Wall to find out why the promotional page of Euler's cat products has not been modified.

Euler, one of the six major brands of Great Wall, founded in 2018, carries the task of transforming Great Wall to smart electrification, with annual global sales of 1 million vehicles by 2023. Data show that from January to November this year, Euler's overall sales were 114102 vehicles, an increase of 162.2% over the same period last year, of which Euler cats sold a total of 40246 vehicles.

According to the plan, Euler will move towards a higher value product matrix. In 2022, Great Wall will launch Euler Ballet Cat, Punk Cat, Lightning Cat and other models one after another, and plans to release the first C-Class sedan of the Euler brand next year.

In the face of such a huge goal, it is not known whether the incident of "changing the core door" of Euler good cats, which is still fermenting, will have an impact on its brand and sales. The car Channel of the Financial Associated Press will also continue to pay attention.
