Angkor Resources discovers rare earth elements in its Gossan Hills exploration area in Cambodia

((Angkor Resources Corp)), an Angkor resources company, said it had found up to 450 (ppm) of rare earth element (REE) in some parts of the soil in its exploration of the Gossan Hills area under the terms of its exclusive Andong Meas license.

The company has identified Gossan Hills prospects on the Anton Mays license in the past few months. Angkor is pleased that preliminary analysis shows that there are rare earth elements, with a total content of up to 450 ppm in the selected area.

Dennis Ouellette, vice president of exploration, commented, "it seems that REE mineralization is replacing metamorphic carbonate rocks near intrusive granodiorite. The initial amount of 17 kinds of REE (total rare earth oxides) is more than 450 ppm, of which scandium is more than 200 ppm. It is worth considering that, in some cases, the threshold of 500 ppm has become commercially viable in some parts of China, where REE is close to the surface and located in easily recyclable media such as laterite, above diorite and syenite. Specific REE can be very valuable, so a small amount of rare earths can produce considerable returns. "

Angkor Resources has recently completed a grid mapping survey of the exploration area and will conduct cross-checks to locate the largest REE deposit. They are working on a follow-up plan for the overall outlook in the coming months for further exploration.

Delayne Weeks commented: "this is a very new and exciting development. We now need to determine whether there are enough commercial quantities of specific high-value REE in the Antonmes region. "

Angkor Resources Corp. Is a listed company listed on TSX-Venture Exchange, a leading resource optimizer in Cambodia, with multiple licenses in the country's NE quadrant. In 2020, the company was approved and began negotiations on the (PSC) terms of the production sharing contract for the VIII bloc (Cambodia's 7300 square kilometer oil and gas license).
