Ministry of Industry and Information Technology: guide lithium-ion battery enterprises to improve product quality, improve recovery and comprehensive utilization of the whole life cycle

On November 18, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology openly solicited opinions on the Lithium Ion Battery Industry Standard conditions (2021 version) (draft for soliciting opinions) and the measures for the Administration of Lithium Ion Battery Industry Standard announcement (2021 version) (draft for soliciting opinions). It is mentioned that lithium-ion battery enterprises should be guided to reduce manufacturing projects that simply expand production capacity, strengthen technological innovation and improve product quality. Enterprises are encouraged to increase resource recovery and comprehensive utilization in the front-end design of products, and improve the comprehensive management of life cycle resources such as the production, sale, use, recovery and comprehensive utilization of lithium-ion batteries.

In order to further strengthen the management of the lithium-ion battery industry and promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry and technological progress, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (Department of Electronic Information) has organized and revised the Lithium-ion Battery Industry Standard conditions (2021) and the Lithium-ion Battery Industry Standardization Bulletin (2021) (draft), which are now open to the public for comments.
