11.2 billion yuan! It is reported that the total investment of Lishen new energy industrial base and R & D center project is 11.2 billion yuan, of which, the new energy industrial base project plans to build annual 24GWh lithium-ion battery, which is planned to be built in two phases, the first phase and the second phase respectively build 12GWh capacity, which is scheduled to start in 2022 and completed by the end of 2023.

On November 16th, Tianjin Lishen Battery Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as: Lishen Battery) attended the 2021 Wuxi Xishan Golden Autumn Investment Cooperation Forum and signed a major industrial project. It is proposed to build Lishen new energy industry base and R & D center project in Wuxi Xishan.

It is reported that the total investment of Lishen new energy industry base and R & D center project is 11.2 billion yuan, and the total land area of the project is about 800mu. Among them, the new energy industry base project is planned to cover an area of 710mu, located in Ehu Town, Xishan District, with an annual production capacity of 24GWh lithium-ion battery planned to be built in two phases, the first phase and the second phase respectively, the project is scheduled to start in 2022, the first phase of construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2023, and the annual sales are expected to reach 15 billion yuan after delivery.

In addition, the R & D center project will cover an area of about 90 mu and will be located in Xishan Economic and technological Development Zone, planning to carry out innovative activities such as R & D, testing and testing to serve the R & D needs of Lishen battery and its related enterprises.

Zhang Qiang, general manager of Lishen Battery, said at the meeting that the new energy base project of Lishen Battery will be an important part of the company's layout of the East China market, and the company will take this contract as an opportunity to open omni-directional, wide-field, and multi-level in-depth cooperation with Xishan. Give full play to Lishen's technological advantages of deeply ploughing the lithium power industry for more than 20 years, and combine with the upstream and downstream of Xishan's local and surrounding new energy industry. Build a new energy industry chain in Xishan and jointly create a closer ecological circle of new energy industry in southern Jiangsu.

Data show that Lishen Battery is a state-controlled mixed ownership high-tech enterprise, founded in 1997, with a registered capital of about 1.73 billion yuan. The products are mainly used in consumer electronic products, new energy vehicles (new energy vehicles) and energy storage. According to data released by SNE Research, six Chinese battery manufacturers were on the global Top10 list of power battery installations in September, with Lishen battery successfully entering the list with an increase of 422.2%, ranking ninth.

[SMM Energy Storage Battery Cell Market Weekly Review 9.3] Tight copper foil supply constrains September production schedules, energy storage battery cell prices remain firm
[SMM Analysis] Affected by tight copper foil supply and slower-than-expected capacity ramp-up for large-capacity battery cells, China and global energy storage battery cell production growth in September is expected to slow to 4.09% and 4.25% MoM, respectively, but this does not indicate weakening end-use demand. Supply-demand conditions for energy storage battery cells remain tight, with 314Ah battery cell prices holding steady. Shipments are expected to rise steadily going forward, with prices continuing their stable-to-higher trend.

CATL Chairman: China's NEV Sales Surpass 7.4M in H1, Emphasizes Precision in Battery Production
CATL Chairman Zeng Yuqun, in a video address to the 2026 World Power Battery Conference, said that in H1 this year, China's NEV sales exceeded 7.4 million units, with over 600 new models launched, averaging nearly three per day. Everyone is competing on speed, specifications, and price, and development cycles are getting shorter. He noted that power batteries require extremely high precision and have very low tolerance for error. In mass production, all small issues are magnified many times over, so every process and every parameter must be strictly controlled from the design stage, anomalies must be identified in advance, and there must be zero tolerance for quality problems.
