Geely Automobile's first "Intelligent cockpit Chip" is about to get attention again in mass production of automotive electronics industry.

Published: Nov 1, 2021 09:22

Recently, Geely announced that Geely's first 7nm SOC "intelligent cockpit chip" chip is about to be mass produced; in 2023, it will launch the first 7nm, high-computing self-driving chip; in 2025, it will launch a 5nm self-driving chip, and fully master L5 self-driving technology to achieve L4 self-driving commercial applications. In addition, Geely plans to complete the network of 72 IoT communication satellites and 168 navigation-enhanced low-orbit constellations in 2026 to achieve "global blind zone" communications and centimeter-level high-precision positioning coverage.

According to the foresight Research Institute, self-driving cars will become the mainstream of new car sales in 2035, and self-driving will have a far-reaching impact on the way people travel. China will become the world's largest market for self-driving cars. By 2030, annual sales of new L4 driverless cars in China will exceed 500000, accounting for nearly 30 per cent of global annual sales.

According to the theme database of the Financial Associated Press, among the relevant listed companies:

The car engine products of Huayang Group integrating Huawei HiCar have been landed; the automatic parking (APA) based on Huawei Hayes chip has been awarded the designated project, and some of the products of Jinkang Selis intelligent cockpit have been awarded the designated project.

The IPU03, the world's first autopilot domain controller based on the Nvidia Xavier, has been mass produced on the Xiaopeng P7 model.

This week, rare earth oxide and metal prices outside China remained largely stable amid sluggish trading, while price fluctuations in China had not yet been transmitted. Industrial developments were intensive: India’s Mecwin teamed up with Germany’s Fraunhofer to lay out the entire NdFeB industry chain; Sweden approved a 25-year lease for the North Kärr rare earth mine, and Namibia’s Kieshoehe project verified deep potential. Iluka obtained an Australian government loan to advance the Eneabba refinery, and ULVAC, driven by surging demand in Europe and the United States, planned to build a new melting furnace production line in Japan. U.S. and Australian enterprises achieved breakthroughs in high-purity rare earth refining and hard disk recycling technologies, while Canada and Japan actively promoted cooperation on the critical minerals supply chain.

Rare Earth Prices Raised Overall, Market Inquiries and Transactions Weak [SMM Rare Earth Daily Review]
[SMM Rare Earth Daily Review: Rare Earth Prices Generally Rise, Market Inquiry and Transaction Activity Remains Weak] On the whole, influenced by the noticeably improved market trading activity yesterday, low-priced sources of rare earth materials tightened overall, and suppliers have raised their quotes one after another. However, downstream inquiry activity has decreased to some extent, and actual transaction performance in the market has been lackluster. In the near term, affected by the tightening of low-priced sources in the market, Pr-Nd product prices will likely drift higher.
