On October 26th, Longbai Group announced that in order to expand the production capacity of chlorinated titanium dioxide and further increase its market share, Sichuan Longyun Mining and Metallurgical Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, plans to invest in the construction of a 200000-ton demonstration project for comprehensive recovery of rare metals such as titanium dioxide chloride and vanadium-scandium (supporting 1 million tons of high-salt wastewater treatment project).

On October 26, Longbai Group announced that the 28th meeting of the seventh session of the board of directors of Longbai Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "the company") held on October 25, 2021, examined and adopted the "bill on investing in the construction of a demonstration project for comprehensive recovery of 200000 tons of titanium dioxide chloride and rare metals such as vanadium and scandium (supporting 1 million tons of high-salt wastewater treatment project)", in order to expand the production capacity of titanium dioxide by chlorination process of the company, To further increase the market share of products, Sichuan Longyun Mining and Metallurgical Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of the company, plans to invest in the construction of a demonstration project for comprehensive recovery of 200000 tons of titanium chloride and rare metals such as vanadium and scandium (supporting 1 million tons of high-salt wastewater treatment project).

It is understood that the construction site of the project is located in Yanbian County, Panzhihua City, Sichuan Province. the project produces 200000 tons of high-grade titanium chloride powder, 43000 tons of hydrochloric acid, 100000 tons of caustic soda, 400 tons of vanadium pentoxide and 20 tons of scandium oxide. The total investment of the project is 3.5 billion yuan, with self-raised and self-raised funds as the source of funding, and the construction cycle is planned to be 4 years and 6 months.

The company is the only industry leader in China to master the whole production process of large-scale sulfuric acid process and boiling chlorination process at the same time. Through the implementation of this project, the company expands the production capacity of the chlorination process, consolidate the company's first-mover advantage in the domestic chlorination titanium dioxide industry, optimize product structure, enhance market competitiveness, and increase market share, which will become a new profit growth point of the company in the future.

On the basis of the innovative project of upgrading and transforming 500000 tons of Panzhihua titanium concentrate into titanium chloride slag, the company has invested in a new demonstration project for comprehensive recovery of 200000 tons of titanium chloride and rare metals such as vanadium and scandium. At the same time, a 1 million-ton / year high-salt wastewater advanced treatment project was built to realize the comprehensive utilization of Panzhihua vanadium-titanium magnetite, promote the development of Panzhihua local economy and enhance the overall level of China's titanium dioxide industry. It will be of great significance to accelerate the technological progress and development trend of titanium industrialization.
