Steel import and export prices have risen sharply due to strong international market demand and rising commodity prices, said Qu Xiuli, vice president of the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), at the third quarter information conference.

SHANGHAI, Oct 25 (SMM) – Steel import and export prices have risen sharply due to strong international market demand and rising commodity prices, said Qu Xiuli, vice president of the China Iron and Steel Association (CISA), at the third quarter information conference.

From January to September, the average steel export price was $1,113.6/mt, a year-on-year increase of 35.6%; the average import price was $1,263.6/mt, a year-on-year increase of 55.4%.
