US Supply Chain Congestion Continues, Cargo Backlog at in Southern California Port Hit a Record High

The congestion in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach intensified amid Covid-19 pandemic and the shortage of labour.

SHANGHAI, Oct 21 (SMM) – The congestion in the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach intensified amid Covid-19 pandemic and the shortage of labour.

The backlog of cargo ships in Southern California reached a record high. It is reported that more than 100 ships were waiting to unload thousands of containers outside the ports this week. There were usually less than 20 ships berthed in the above-mentioned ports before the pandemic. In addition, dozens of ships have been waiting for weeks in the waters outside the port.
