SHANGHAI, Oct 9 (SMM) - According to SMM survey, the operating rates at 6 blast furnace mills in Jiangsu increased as of October 9. Also, 3-5 companies plan to resume production between October 10 and 15. About 50% of the rolling lines have returned to normal operation. In addition, most of the electric furnace plants and the billet rolling mills maintain the pre-holiday operating rates, which is difficult to further increase in the short term.
The power rationing requirement for mills in Jiangsu loosened sharply. The rolling lines at some mills are about to produce at night. The increase in the output of the output of building materials is expected to be sharp after October 15. The tight power supply is unlikely to ease in Jiangsu in the medium and long term. The upward room for the operating rates at mills is likely to be limited after this round of resumption of production. The overall steel output will be significantly lower than normal.
