Vale said production of copper concentrate at its Salobo mine in the Brazilian state of Para was suspended as the fire affected the conveyor belt.
The company said it expected the mine to resume production by the end of October. Other activities such as mining and maintenance are under way.
Vale pointed out that there were no casualties, only material losses.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
In 2020, Salobo produced 172700 tons of copper, almost half the annual output of Rio de Janeiro.
