SHANGHAI, Sep 30 (SMM) – The average operating rate across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces decreased 3.92 percentage points from September 24 to 64.02% as of Friday September 30.

The operating rate fell sharply this week mainly due to the National Day holiday and the power rationing.

Most battery companies will have a holiday of 1-3 days for the National Day. If the power rationing extend in Jiangsu, the operating rate of the lead-acid battery producers will stand flat. Some plants plan to maintain normal production during the National Day holiday.

The operating rates are expected to rebound after the holiday as downstream plants resume the normal production.
