In 1951, the Guangxi Branch of the General Administration of Nonferrous Metals Industry of the Ministry of heavy Industry of the Central South military and political Commission set up the Danchi Engineering Agency in Hechi and Nandan. In 1952, Dachang Tin Mine, the predecessor of Huaxi Group, was established. Huaxi Group became the first company of the same kind in China to register with the London Metal Exchange in the United Kingdom. China-tin series products were exempted from inspection and exported to dozens of countries and regions, so they enjoyed high goodwill and became one of the major foreign exchange earners in China's non-ferrous metals industry at that time.

In the national scientific and technological support plan from the sixth five-year Plan to the 13th five-year Plan, Huaxi Group focuses on the comprehensive development and utilization of indium, tin and antimony resources, makes the limited resources serve the country sustainably with diligence and wisdom, and completes more than 330 national key scientific and technological projects. In 2015, with the approval of the National Development and Reform Commission, Huaxi Group built the only national engineering laboratory of indium tin resources in China.
