[marching into New Energy Materials, this phosphate fertilizer listed company plans to cooperate with Rongjie to develop lithium iron phosphate] on September 22nd, Sirte announced that it intends to transfer a 70% stake in Guizhou Lufa, a wholly-owned subsidiary, to Rongjie Holdings and set up a joint venture with the latter to produce lithium iron phosphate and ferric phosphate, with a target output of 50, 000 tons / year and 100000 tons / year, respectively.

On September 22nd, Sirt (002538) announced that it plans to sign a cooperation framework agreement with Rongjie Holdings and AVIC Trust on cooperation in the development of phosphate resources, joint venture production of iron phosphate and lithium iron phosphate products and other related cooperation.

According to the agreement, Sirte transferred the conditions agreed on by Guizhou Lufa, a wholly-owned subsidiary, to Rongjie Holdings in batches, and jointly set up a joint venture company mainly engaged in lithium iron phosphate, a new energy material, and the production of iron phosphate. Lithium iron phosphate company will be 70% owned by Sert (or its designated main body), with an estimated total investment of 2 billion yuan, and the target output of lithium iron phosphate is 50, 000 tons / year, which is achieved in three phases (the target output of the first phase of the project is 10, 000 tons / year, the target output of the second phase of the project is 20, 000 tons / year, and the target output of the third phase of the project is 20, 000 tons / year, totaling 50, 000 tons / year). The iron phosphate company is expected to have a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan, with Sert (or its designated main body) holding 51% of the shares, and the target output of iron phosphate is 100000 tons / year, which will be achieved in two phases.

Lithium Iron Phosphate aims that future product sales should enter at least one of the top three companies in the downstream new energy vehicle battery industry in China, or introduce the aforementioned company to invest in Lithium Iron Phosphate.

Sirt said that the signing of the cooperation framework agreement aims to promote the development and utilization of existing phosphate rock resources, improve the company's phosphorus chemical industry layout, enter the field of new energy materials, and further enhance the company's market competitiveness.

The data show that Sirte is a professional enterprise engaged in the research and development, production and sales of high concentration phosphate and compound fertilizer products, and has relatively sufficient phosphate rock resources. Guizhou Road, which has just acquired full equity in January this year, has found that it has phosphate mining rights of 4.5602 square kilometers in Mingniwan and 8.38 square kilometers in Yongwen. Among them, Yongwen phosphate rock retained resources reserves (160550m) is 104.3 million tons, the average grade (P2O5) is 30.96%; Mingniwan phosphate rock retained resources reserves (332-333-334) totaled 9.5963 million tons. At present, the Mingniwan Mine is in normal production and operation, with an estimated annual production capacity of 800000 to 1.2 million tons; the construction of Yongwen Mine is under intense planning and design, and once the design is completed, it will directly enter the construction stage.

When communicating with investors at the beginning of this month, Sirt said that the development of new energy industry is the future trend. Lithium iron phosphate, as the main raw material for batteries of new energy vehicles in the future, is more environmentally friendly, longer to store electricity, and cheaper. The main raw materials of lithium iron phosphate involve industrial-grade monoammonium phosphate or food-grade phosphoric acid and electronic-grade phosphoric acid, which are also favored by the capital market. However, investment in industrial-grade monoammonium phosphate or food-grade phosphoric acid and electronic-grade phosphoric acid projects have relatively strict requirements in all aspects, and the necessary technical process, site and maneuverability are needed. first of all, high-quality phosphate ore is required on the raw materials; secondly, the project must be built in the chemical park; and it needs the ability to deal with slag and residual acid; it also needs to have the ability to store phosphogypsum and digest phosphogypsum. At present, the company has the conditions for the production of the above products and has been conducting investigation, research and demonstration consultations on the specific issues related to the phosphorus chemical industry.

Battery Network noted that in September, in addition to Sert, two other listed phosphorus chemical companies were also expanding into iron phosphate and lithium iron phosphate:

Sichuan Heng shares (002895) announced that the company signed a framework agreement and cooperation agreement with Guoxuan Group to cooperate in the field of phosphorus battery materials and fluorine battery materials. The two sides plan to jointly plan and build a production line of iron phosphate for batteries with a capacity of not less than 500000 tons per year.

On September 3, Yuntu Holdings (002539) announced that it plans to invest 4.595 billion yuan to build 350000 tons of iron phosphate and its supporting projects in Songzi City, Hubei Province, to expand downward along the "phosphate rock-phosphoric acid-iron phosphate".

The latest data show that on September 22nd, German Nano, Beitri, Peking University first, Guanghua Science and Technology and other companies power lithium iron phosphate quoted for 63000 yuan / ton.

Ecora’s Voisey’s Bay Cobalt Entitlement Rises 90% YoY in H1 as Underground Mine Ramp-Up Nears Completion
According to Ecora Royalties’ 2026 interim results released on September 2, the company received 266 tonnes of cobalt through its Voisey’s Bay cobalt stream in the first half of the year, up about 90% from 140 tonnes in the same period of 2025. Ecora said the ramp-up of underground mining operations at Voisey’s Bay is now substantially complete. Driven by higher cobalt volumes and stronger prices, the project’s portfolio contribution after stream costs rose to US$13.5 million in the first half, up 230% year on year, while the average realized cobalt price increased to US$28.4/lb from US$16.5/lb a year earlier. Meanwhile, Vale Base Metals is studying an expansion of the Voisey’s Bay concentrator’s processing capacity from around 2.8 million tonnes per year to 3.8 million tonnes per year. The related pre-feasibility study remains underway, with a final investment decision targeted around 2028. The project also plans both underground and surface drilling in 2026 to optimize the mine plan, support resource expansion and potentially extend mine life. Ecora also said planned maintenance is scheduled at the Voisey’s Bay concentrator in the third quarter and at the Long Harbour refinery in the fourth quarter.

The lithium carbonate 2701 contract opened lower at 157,000 yuan/mt today, then fluctuated downward after the open. In the morning session, it traded weakly around the 156,000-157,000 yuan range, with an intraday high of 157,800 yuan/mt. Near midday, it quickly dropped to 153,200 yuan/mt, hitting a new intraday low. Around midday, prices seesawed repeatedly in the 154,000-156,000 yuan range. In the afternoon, bulls briefly pushed prices up but failed to break above the average price line. Prices weakened again in late trading, eventually closing down 3.2% at 154,800 yuan/mt, with open interest falling by 9,123 lots. In the spot market, downstream buyers purchased on dips as needed. At 155,000 yuan/mt and below, downstream spot order purchase willingness continued to recover. On the supply side, as prices drifted lower, willingness to sell spot orders remained weak, with some lithium chemical plants holding prices firm and holding back from selling. Overall, market inquiries and actual transactions were relatively active.
