The National Bureau of Statistics: from January to August, 9.38 million new urban jobs across the country achieved 85.3% of the annual target.

According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics, 9.38 million urban jobs were created from January to August, reaching 85.3% of the annual target. In August, the unemployment rate in the national urban survey was 5.1%, the same as in July. The unemployment rate of the local registered population survey is 5.2%, while that of the migrant population survey is 5.0%. The unemployment rate in the 16-24-year-old survey was 15.3%, down 0.9 percentage points from July, while the unemployment rate in the 25-59-year-old survey was 4.3%. The unemployment rate surveyed in 31 major cities and towns was 5.3%, up 0.1 percentage points from July. The average weekly working time of employees in enterprises across the country is 47.5 hours.
