SHANGHAI, Sep 1 (SMM) – BTR New Energy Material intends to establish a joint venture Sichuan Ruifu New Material Technology with Fuan to build a production line with annual output of 100,000 mt of lithium battery anode precursor and finished products. The project is planned to be constructed in two phases. The first phase is to build a production line with an annual output of 50,000 mt of lithium battery anode precursor and finished products (covering the anode front-end processes such as crushing, granulation, and coating, and finished products processes like carbonisation, screening, demagnetisation and packaging. The construction period is 12 months, and the total investment for the first phase is estimated to be 900 million yuan.

The second phase of the project plans to add an annual production line of 50,000 mt of lithium battery anode precursor and finished products. The specific progress will be determined according to the market conditions after the commissioning of the first phase.

On the capacity of anode materials, BTR has been the world's largest anode supplier for many years, and its production capacity is expanding. The effective production capacity stood at 106,000 mt in 2020, and is expected to reach 160,000 and 260,000 mt in 2021 and 2022, respectively.

The company gained operating revenue of 4.207 billion yuan in H1, a year-on-year increase of 168.83%. The sales of anode materials were 61,856 mt and operating revenue was 2.393 billion yuan, up 131.46% and 98.54% year-on-year respectively.
