Operating rates of blast furnaces at steel mills fell 0.1 percentage point on the week and 0.9 percentage point from a month ago to 81.1% as of August 26, SMM survey showed.

SHANGHAI, Aug 26 (SMM) — Operating rates of blast furnaces at steel mills fell 0.1 percentage point on the week and 0.9 percentage point from a month ago to 81.1% as of August 26, SMM survey showed.

Steel output and blast furnace operating rate have remained low amid the reduction of crude steel capacity. A big blast furnace will conduct maintenance in September. Operating rates at blast furnaces will decline slightly in September.
