Focus on cultivating "specialized and innovative" rare earth enterprises

In recent years, in the process of the development of China's rare earth industry, the cultivation of "specialized and new" (specialized, refined, characteristic, novel) rare earth enterprises has become one of the key tasks carried out by governments at all levels. These "specialized and special new" enterprises will become the "little giants" of the high-quality development of the rare earth industry, and are bound to become an important force in promoting economic and social development.

Recently, in the notice on the list of small and medium-sized Enterprises (hereinafter referred to as "notice") issued by the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, Longnanlong Yttrium heavy rare Earth Technology Co., Ltd., Xinfeng Baogang Xinli rare Earth Co., Ltd., Ganzhou Dongjiao rare Earth Co., Ltd., Ganzhou Huajing rare Earth New Materials Co., Ltd., Suichuan and Chuang Metal New Materials Co., Ltd. and other five rare earth enterprises are identified as "specialized and special new" enterprises.

The "Circular" requires that rare earth enterprises such as Longnan Dragon Yttrium heavy rare Earth Technology Co., Ltd., which have been recognized, should continue to adhere to the development path of "specialization and innovation" on the existing basis, constantly enhance their core competitiveness, and give full play to the role of benchmarking in the high-quality development of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Small and medium-sized enterprises are like pearls embedded in the rare earth supply chain and industrial chain. whether these pearls can shine, whether they can string together the rare earth supply chain and industrial chain to form a complete chain system, from the perspective of cultivating "specialization and innovation", it is very important to make up for the shortcomings in the current supply chain and industrial chain.

Objectively speaking, the innovation ability of domestic rare earth small and medium-sized enterprises is weak, which can not meet the requirements of high-quality development of rare earth industry and even economy. In particular, many rare earth small and medium-sized enterprises are at the middle and low end of the industrial chain, due to the lack of innovation capacity-building, the possibility of being replaced by competition, and the lack of the ability to shape and control the supply chain. in the emergence of external shocks such as epidemics, it is easy to break the chain and be eliminated, so it is difficult to achieve controllable and efficient development.

How to get rid of this predicament, rare earth small and medium-sized enterprises should change their ideas, bravely set the tide, dare to innovate, and overcome various impacts. At the same time, it is necessary to focus on the main business, practice hard internal skills, and build rare earth enterprises into "singles champions" or "supporting experts" who master unique skills.

If the rare earth small and medium-sized enterprises develop well, the rare earth industry of our country will develop better. At this stage of the development of the rare earth industry, scientific and technological innovation is not only a problem of development, but also a problem of survival. Under such circumstances, speeding up the development of small and medium-sized rare earth enterprises is an important starting point for promoting scientific and technological innovation with enterprises as the main body, and plays an important role in enhancing the competitiveness of the real economy, especially the rare earth industry. it is also an important starting point to promote the development of new momentum.

The development of rare earth small and medium-sized enterprises is inseparable from the help of the government. In February this year, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology jointly issued the Circular on supporting the High-quality Development of small and medium-sized Enterprises, specifying that the central government will allocate more than 10 billion yuan in award and subsidy funds. to support the high-quality development of small and medium-sized enterprises with "specialization and innovation". This policy will help to enhance the quantity and quality of "specialized and special new" rare earth enterprises, and enhance the stability and competitiveness of the rare earth industry chain and supply chain.

Not long ago, when analyzing and studying the current economic situation and making arrangements for economic work in the second half of this year, the meeting of the political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee proposed to "develop 'specialized' and specially new 'small and medium-sized enterprises," pointing out the direction for the next development of small and medium-sized enterprises. For rare earth enterprises, there is an urgent need to analyze calmly, grasp the general trend, strengthen confidence, and constantly contribute more to the construction of a new development pattern of the rare earth industry and the promotion of high-quality development.
