Not only that, according to statistics, from January to July 2021, the total production and sales of new energy vehicles in China has reached 1.504 million and 1.478 million, and the achievements in the first seven months alone have exceeded the previous domestic production and sales records for the whole year. It is not difficult to achieve the forecast of production and sales of 2.5 million vehicles for the whole of this year.
Previously, some institutions predicted that global electric vehicle sales would reach 11.5 million by 2025, with an average annual compound growth rate of 32%.
Therefore, with the upsurge of new energy vehicles, lithium batteries, as the power core of new energy vehicles, are also favored by many enterprises. in the past seven months, the total number of power batteries installed in China has accumulated 63.8 GWH, an increase of 183.5% over the same period last year. Among them, lithium iron phosphate batteries loaded a total of 28.0 GWH, accounting for 43.9% of the total loading, a year-on-year increase of 333.0%. In the context of such a good situation, many enterprises have begun to accelerate the layout of lithium power production capacity. Ningde era:
On August 12, Ningde Times disclosed a fixed increase plan that the total amount of funds to be raised would not exceed 58.2 billion yuan. After deducting the issuing expenses, it is proposed to invest in the Fuding era lithium-ion battery production base project with an annual capacity of about 60GWh, the Guangdong Ruiqing era lithium-ion battery production project with an annual capacity of about 30GWh, and to carry out the research and development of a new generation of key material systems for power and energy storage batteries. Sodium ion battery industry chain key materials and equipment development and other business Ningde era new energy advanced technology R & D and application project and other six projects and supplementary liquidity. As the leading power battery company in China, Ningde era mostly adopts the way of establishing joint ventures with other enterprises to achieve the purpose of expanding production capacity. Japan's TDK also announced that its subsidiary, Hong Kong New Energy Technology, will set up a joint venture with Ningde Times to develop and manufacture lithium batteries for industrial applications such as electric motorcycles.
On January 9, Fulin Seiko announced that it had decided to increase investment in Jiangxi sublimation together with Ningde era for the construction of 50, 000 tons of new energy lithium cathode materials, of which Ningde era directly increased capital by 20 million yuan.
For the expansion of the production line, on February 25th, time SAIC Power Battery Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Ningde Times, intends to invest no more than 10.5 billion yuan to expand the production line. Not only that, earlier in the same month, Ningde era has already planned to invest heavily in the construction of Yibin Base Phase 5 and 6 (12 billion) Power, Zhaoqing Base Phase I (12 billion) Power and Energy Storage, time FAW (5 billion, the company holds 51%) power project, the construction period is no more than two years. Strive to plan and build 150GWh lithium battery capacity and related supporting industries in Guangdong by 2030.
Yiwei lithium energy:
On August 4th, Yiwei Lithium Energy and its subsidiaries plan to invest in a new annual 30GWh power storage battery project in Jingmen, including 15GWh's logistics vehicle and household energy storage lithium iron phosphate battery project and 15GWh passenger car ternary battery project.
It is worth mentioning that on August 2, Yiwei LiNeng also set up a joint venture subsidiary with Enjie shares, investing 5.2 billion yuan in the manufacture of lithium-ion battery separators and coated films.
On July 22nd, Yiwei LiNeng said its subsidiary Yiwei Power invested about 2.45 billion yuan to build a number of production lines, including cylindrical lithium iron phosphate batteries, square lithium iron phosphate batteries and ternary square lithium ion batteries.
In the same month, Yiwei LiNeng issued two more announcements: one is to build a project with an annual output of 30, 000 tons of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide with Jinkunlun, of which the first phase is to build a project with an annual capacity of 10, 000 tons of lithium carbonate and lithium hydroxide; the other is to acquire a 5% stake in Dahua Chemical Industry with 110 million yuan to speed up the development of boron and potash resources in Dachaidan Salt Lake to help the company further focus on lithium battery business.
On June 10th, Yiwei LiNeng and its subsidiaries plan to invest in the construction of a new energy power energy storage battery industrial park with an annual production capacity of 104.5GWh (including the completed capacity 11GWh, the capacity under construction 11GWh and the capacity 82.5GWh to be reinvested in stages) in Jingmen Kuidao District, and introduce the supporting industry of lithium-ion power energy storage battery according to production demand. On the same day, Yiwei Lithium Power, a subsidiary of Yiwei Lithium Energy, set up a joint venture with Linyang Energy to invest no more than 3 billion yuan in the construction of an annual 10GWh energy storage battery project, mainly producing lithium iron phosphate batteries.
On May 24, Yiwei LiNeng also aimed at the nickel-cobalt ore end, and the subsidiary Yiwei Asia and Huayou International Cobalt Industry and other trading parties signed a joint venture agreement on the wet smelting project of Huayu Nickel-Cobalt laterite Nickel Ore in Indonesia. It is agreed that the annual output of about 120000 tons of nickel metal products and about 15000 tons of cobalt metal products.
In the same month, Yiwei Asia also established a joint venture with Bertre and SKI to focus on the design and construction of lithium battery high-nickel ternary cathode materials with a maximum of 50000 tons.
And Yiwei LiNeng is not alone in expanding lithium power production by setting up a joint venture. In March, Yiwei LiNeng successively invested 3 billion yuan in the construction of the second phase of lithium-ion power batteries for passenger cars through its subordinate companies. The first phase of the project was put into construction on February 19, with an investment of no more than 1 billion yuan. On March 23, Yiwei LiNeng set up a joint venture with German Nano to focus on the production of lithium iron phosphate. It is reported that the joint venture has a planned annual production capacity of 100000 tons.
Ganfeng Lithium Industry:
Ganfeng Lithium Industry announced that its holding subsidiary Ganfeng Lithium Power plans to invest 8.4 billion yuan to build an annual 15GWh new lithium battery project, including 3 billion yuan investment in Jiangxi Xinyu High-tech Industrial Development Zone to build an annual 5GWh new lithium battery project and 5.4 billion yuan investment in Chongqing Liangjiang New area to build an annual 10GWh new lithium battery science and technology park and advanced battery research project.
On July 19th, Ganfeng Lithium Industry also revealed that most of the construction of the Cauchari-Olaroz Lithium Salt Lake project in Argentina will be completed in 2021 and will be put into trial production in the first half of 2022. It is reported that the planned production capacity of the salt lake is 40,000 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate per year.
On June 8, Ganfeng Lithium Industry decided to set up a joint venture company in the city government area and invest in the construction of a new energy material project with an annual output of 50,000 tons of lithium electricity. On April 8th, Ganfeng Lithium Industry took into account that the company has built the world's largest lithium metal production base in Yichun City, and the area has the advantages of production expansion and sustainable development, the company decided to invest in the construction of an annual production capacity of 7000 tons of metal lithium and lithium materials in phases within the jurisdiction of the Yichun Economic Development District Management Committee.
Guoxuan Hi-Tech:
On July 26th, Guoxuan Hi-Tech said that its wholly-owned subsidiary signed an investment agreement with the Lujiang Management Committee of Hefei, Anhui Province, with an annual production capacity of 200000 tons of high-end cathode materials. The project is scheduled to start production in 2025 and its annual output value is expected to reach 10 billion yuan upon completion.
On July 22nd, Hefei Guoxuan Hi-Tech Power Energy Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Guoxuan High-tech Co., Ltd. also signed a cooperation agreement with the management committee of Hefei Xinzhan High-tech Industrial Development Zone to build a 20GWh power battery production base in Xinzhan High-tech Zone to focus on the production and manufacture of Volkswagen standard batteries.
As early as March 22, Guoxuan Hi-Tech announced that it planned to invest 12 billion yuan to build a production base for upstream raw materials and battery recycling projects such as power lithium battery in Feidong County, Hefei City.
Huayou Cobalt Industry:
On June 11, Huayou Cobalt Industry announced that it planned to spend 77.4 yuan on the construction of ternary precursors and ternary cathode materials. It is reported that the company plans to build 50, 000 tons of ternary cathode materials for high-nickel power batteries, 100000 tons of ternary precursor materials integration project and 50, 000 tons of high-performance power battery ternary cathode materials project through the wholly-owned subsidiaries of Guangxi Bamo and Huayou New Energy.
As early as May 23, Bamo Technology, which was mentioned, was acquired again by Huayou Cobalt Industry with an offer of 1.351 billion yuan. Since then, Huayou Cobalt Industry has a total of 65.0222% of the voting rights of Bamo Technology, realizing control of Bamo Technology and adding another fire to the layout of its lithium cathode materials.
Rongbai Technology:
Coincidentally, in terms of ternary cathode materials, Rongbai Technology also revealed in an interview with reporters on April 17 that the company currently has an annual production capacity of 40,000 tons of ternary cathode materials (mainly high-nickel materials), and will continue to expand production in the future. it is expected to expand production to 12 tons by the end of this year and to more than 300000 tons by 2025.
As early as February 8, Rongbai Technology subsidiary said that it would start the second phase of the production line with an annual output of 100000 tons of high-nickel cathode materials and its follow-up project, with a construction capital estimated to be no more than 2.9 billion yuan.
Sheng Xin Lithium Energy:
On June 4, Shengxin Lithium Energy subsidiary Shengwei Lithium Industry plans to purchase metal lithium production equipment from Keai Technology with a purchase amount of 8.92 million yuan. It is reported that Shengwei Lithium Industry, a subsidiary of the company, plans to build an annual production capacity of 1000 tons of lithium metal, of which the first group of 150t capacity of the first phase of the 600t / a metal lithium project was completed in September 2020, and is currently actively building surplus capacity.
On April 16, Shengxin LiNeng said that through its subsidiary Suining Shengxin, the company is expanding its capacity with a designed capacity of 30,000 tons of lithium salt per year, with the first phase of the 20,000 tons of lithium hydroxide project scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Cunninghamia lanceolata:
Shanghai Shanshan Lithium material Technology Co., Ltd. plans to invest about 8 billion yuan to build an integrated base with an annual capacity of 200000 tons of lithium-ion battery anode materials, Shanshan Co., Ltd. announced on Aug. 2. It is reported that the total construction period of the project is 32 months, which is divided into two phases, with a production capacity of 100000 tons.
Azure lithium core:
On August 6, Azure Lithium Core said on the interactive platform that its Zhangjiagang lithium battery phase II project is currently in the stage of equipment installation and is expected to be put into production in October. It is reported that after the project is put into production, the annual production capacity of the blue lithium core lithium battery will be increased by about 300 million.
As early as March 5, Azure Lithium Core decided to invest 5 billion yuan to build a new efficient lithium-ion battery industrialization project to build a new 4 billion AH cylindrical lithium battery. It is reported that the project is planned to be built in two phases, with an investment of 2.35 billion yuan in one phase.

As for Tianci material, one of the leading enterprises of electrolyte, it announced on June 17 that its grandson Chizhou Tianzhi planned to invest 1.05 billion yuan to build a new lithium electric material project with an annual output of 152000 tons, while its subsidiary company planned to invest 510 million yuan to build a project with an annual production capacity of 62000 tons of electrolyte basic materials. On the same day, Tianqi Lithium Industry said that the total planned production capacity of heavy steam plum chemical products exceeded 110000 tons / year.
