






Two trade unions at the Andina copper mine, owned by Chile's state copper company (Codelco), said on Wednesday that they had rejected the latest salary offer from management.
Prior to this, the labor and management sides of the mine conducted labor negotiations that lasted for five days under the mediation of the government. Today, the two sides are still unable to reach an agreement, under Chilean law, workers have the right to strike.
The Andina copper mine, not far from Santiago, Chile's capital, will produce 184000 tons of copper in 2020, accounting for about 11 per cent of Codelco's total copper production and 3 per cent of Chile's total production.
