According to foreign media reports, due to the shortage of chips, Daimler will reduce the production of Mercedes-Benz cars in three German plants and temporarily shut down the company's plant in Hungary.

Daimler said it would reduce the working hours of employees at its (Sindelfingen), Rastat (Rastatt) and Bremen (Bremen) plants in Sinderfengen, Germany. At the Rastat plant, production cuts will continue until the end of next week. At the Sindell Fengen and Bremen plants, production cuts will continue until the end of the week.

Production of only some models will be affected at the Sindelfengen plant, where the company will continue to produce high-margin large luxury cars. Plant 56, which produces Mercedes-Benz S-Class cars, Mercedes Maybach S-Class cars and EQS electric cars, will operate as usual and production will not be affected.

In addition, the company's plant in (Kecskemet), Kechkemet, Hungary, will suspend production for three weeks until mid-August. Daimler did not say how many employees would be affected by the production cuts.

Daimler has previously said that global semiconductor shortages will affect Mercedes-Benz's growth, and the company expects chip shortages to continue into the second half of the year, continuing to dampen its growth. "at present, the whole industry is struggling, the delivery time of cars is getting longer, and unfortunately, our customers have also been affected," said Daimler CEO Conlinson (Ola Kallenius). We are doing everything we can to minimize the impact. "
