NPI and Stainless Steel Production Remains Normal against Typhoon in Jiangsu and Zhejiang

Typhoon "Fireworks" landed strongly in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and Zhejiang was first hit by storms.

SHANGHAI, Jul 26 (SMM) - Typhoon "In-Fa" landed strongly in Jiangsu and Zhejiang, and Zhejiang was first hit by storms.

There are 5 NPI plants, including the stainless plants with NPI facilities, in production in the two provinces, of which the output in June 2021 accounted for 16% of all.

Jiangsu and Zhejiang have a total of 6 stainless steel plants, with the output in June 2021 accounting for about 15% of all.

All the NPI plants and stainless steel plants in Jiangsu and Zhejiang maintain normal production as of Monday July 26, little affected by the typhoon.

[SMM Stainless Steel Flash] Indonesian Major Mill Hikes 316L Export Price by $100/t

According to SMM, on March 4, an Indonesian major stainless steel mill raised its 316L export quotation by USD 100/mt, pushing the price spread between 316L and 304 to USD 1,800/mt. This sharp increase is driven by a rallying molybdenum market: while domestic mines have begun concentrated shipments, molybdenum concentrate transaction prices continue to trend upward. The entire industry chain currently exhibits firm raw material prices and cost-driven pressure, with downstream demand gradually following suit.
