Huawei Electronics: the company's IGBT products have been applied to new energy vehicles

Published: Jul 20, 2021 15:57

In an interaction with investors on July 20, Huawei Electronics said that its IGBT is mainly used in industrial control, white goods, small appliances and cars (including new energy vehicles), and is making every effort to develop a new generation of Trench FS IGBT products and reverse guide IGBT product platforms. Huawei Electronics also revealed that the 8-inch production line that began construction in 2017 has been opened.

According to Huawei Electronics, it is mainly engaged in the design and development of power semiconductor devices, chip manufacturing, packaging testing, sales and other business. Adhering to the technology development strategy of combining production, R & D and storage, Huawei Electronics continues to expand to the middle and high-end technology and application fields of power semiconductor devices, and has established from high-end diodes, one-and-two-way thyristor and MOS products to the most complete and competitive power semiconductor device product system of the sixth generation IGBT in China, which is gradually changing from a single device supplier to an overall solution supplier. At the same time, Huawei Electronics has actively expanded rapidly into new energy vehicles, frequency conversion household appliances, industry and photovoltaic emerging fields, and has achieved good results, laying a solid foundation for sustainable development.

Prior to this, Huawei Electronics regarded 2021 as a key year for its development and reform, and continued to dig deep into the industrial control, white power, photovoltaic and automotive electronics industries as planned to promote product technological change and enhance its core technology research and development capabilities; achieve technological breakthroughs in key products and improve product structure. To this end, Huawei Electronics has formulated the following key product technology platform projects to be promoted this year:

1. MOSFET: has completed the construction and serialization of the 8-inch super MOSFET platform to expand the company's product market share in the power field.

2. IGBT: expands the share of IGBT products in the fields of white goods, industrial frequency conversion, UPS and new energy; develops a new generation of TrenchFSIGBT products and reverse conductive IGBT product platforms; enriches PM and IPM module products, and actively promotes market applications in industrial and household appliances.

3. CCTMOS: establishes an 8-inch process platform of 80V, 100V and 150VCCTMOS to further reduce the product on-resistance and expand the application of power supply and battery protection (BMS).

4. Ultra-high voltage FRD: sets up 3300V and 4500V ultra-high voltage fast recovery diodes to promote the market promotion of UHV FRD modules and lay a foundation for our FRD and IGBT products to enter rail transit, Electroweb and other fields.

5. SCR products: serialize planar SCR products and promote them in the field of white goods and leakage protection.

6. TVS and Zener Diode: develop TVS and Zener Diode product process platform to improve the supporting capacity of the company's products.

7. The third generation semiconductor: develop SiCSBD products and 650VGaN devices to realize the application in the field of industrial power supply and fast charging.

Silicon Metal Market Review for January and Outlook for February
In January, the silicon metal market experienced a relatively loose supply-demand balance, with a theoretical inventory buildup of approximately 30,000 mt. In February, both supply and demand contracted simultaneously, and the market is expected to show a tight balance or minor destocking. The current high industry inventory still requires time to be digested, and the sustainability of destocking remains a key variable affecting price trends and market sentiment.

A plant in northern China is calling for bids for indium ingots and bismuth ingots
SMM, February 6 - According to SMM’s investigation of market information, a large smelter in northern China began public bidding for a certain quantity of indium ingots and bismuth ingots starting yesterday. Market sources indicate that the starting price for these indium ingots exceeds 4,000 yuan per kilogram, while the starting price for bismuth ingots is above 150,000 yuan per ton. The bidding results are expected to be announced before the Spring Festival. Market participants note that, given the clear trend of sluggish trading activity ahead of the Spring Festival, the timing of this bidding is not ideal. However, the relatively favorable starting prices have generated considerable market anticipation for the outcome of the bidding.
