Crude steel output of key iron and steel enterprises in Xinjiang exceeded 7 million tons in the first half of the year.

According to the Xinjiang Iron and Steel Association, from January to June, the pig iron output of key monitoring iron and steel enterprises in Xinjiang was 6.0211 million tons, an increase of 25.06 percent over the same period last year, a decrease of 8.8 percent compared with the same period last year, and an increase of 7.0084 million tons of crude steel, an increase of 25.41 percent over the same period last year and a decrease of 8.7 percent compared with January-April. The output of steel (excluding duplicates) was 6.7412 million tons, an increase of 26.41 percent over the same period last year and a decrease of 9.1 percent compared with January-April.

Of this total, the output of building materials was 4.6381 million tons, an increase of 32.4 percent over the same period last year, a decrease of 18.3 percent compared with January-April, and an increase of 1.9393 million tons of plate and strip, an increase of 17.38 percent over the same period last year and 1.1 percent over January-April.
