






Jiangxi Copper Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Jiangxi Copper") was born at the beginning of China's reform and opening up, shouldering the glorious mission of "getting rid of the backwardness of China's copper industry and revitalizing China's copper industry". For more than 40 years, with the sustained growth of the national economy, Jiang Copper Group has realized step by step from small to big, from weak to strong.
In the process of world modernization, copper, as a strategic mineral resource, is an important industry to support the development of national economy, and is widely used in thousands of industrial products.
In 1978, China's annual output of copper was only 298900 tons, with a weak industrial foundation and a lack of copper production.
Against this background, the CPC Central Committee is determined to revitalize China's copper industry, spending 4% of the national revenue that year and investing 4 billion yuan to build a large-scale copper base in Jiangxi.
In 1985, China's first modern copper base was established, which changed the face of China's backward copper industry and shortened the gap between China's copper industry and the world's advanced level by 40 years. From then on, China's copper smelting industry quickly caught up with the world's advanced level.
As one of the 22 complete sets of projects imported from abroad during the sixth five-year Plan period, Jiangtong Guixi smelter introduced a full set of flash smelting technology from Dongyu, Japan, which became the beginning of the large-scale introduction of a complete set of advanced technology from developed countries in China's non-ferrous metals industry.
Since then, Jiang Copper has gathered talents from all over the world, converged the world's advanced technology, and has taken a step forward in the development and growth of the enterprise with the vivid practice of "concentrating its efforts to do great things".
After several large-scale technical transformation and equipment upgrading, Dexing Copper Mine has become the largest and most modern copper mine in Asia, and Yongping Copper Mine has become the first 10,000-ton capacity copper mine designed and constructed by itself.
On June 10, 1996, the London Metal Exchange formally approved the registration of Jiangtong Guiye brand electric copper, which achieved a breakthrough in the development history of China's copper smelting industry. In 1997, Jiang Copper was successfully listed in Hong Kong and London, becoming the first overseas listed stock in China's non-ferrous metals industry.
By the year 2000, the initial planning goal of the national construction of Jiangxi copper base, "to build a production capacity of 200000 tons of copper by the end of the 20th century, to change the backwardness of China's copper industry" has been successfully realized.
In the new century, Jiang Copper has driven into the fast lane of development with the help of the technical application mode of "introduction-digestion-absorption-innovation-output", forming the world's leading smelting technology and mine development technology.
The comprehensive mining technology, hydrometallurgy and sulphide copper extraction technology of low-grade open-pit copper mine are at the advanced level in the world. More than ten technical and economic indexes, such as flash furnace operation rate, copper smelting comprehensive energy consumption, copper smelting comprehensive recovery rate, total sulfur utilization rate, tilting furnace life and copper content in tailings, which can best represent the technical level of copper smelting enterprises, also lead the world and become the goal of counterparts at home and abroad.
Correspondingly, the scale of Jiang Copper's production capacity has increased steadily, the annual output of mineral copper has increased from 14500 tons at the beginning of its establishment to 208300 tons, the annual copper smelting capacity has increased from 70, 000 tons to 1.4 million tons, and the copper processing capacity has increased from 10, 000 tons to 1.18 million tons. Since 2013, Jiang Copper has been among the Fortune 500 for eight consecutive years.
In 2019, Jiang Copper launched a "three-year innovation doubling" action plan, with the goal of doubling sales revenue and reserves of retained resources in three years, and becoming the world's largest copper smelter and copper processing enterprise.
Under the guidance of the goal of "multiplying innovation in three years", the direction of this giant ship has become clearer: industrial optimization and upgrading has been accelerated, the ability of innovation and development has been continuously enhanced, institutional and institutional obstacles have been further removed, and opening up and cooperation has been accelerated. Jiangtong aims at world-class enterprises with first-class industry, first-class innovation, first-class mechanism and first-class opening up.
In order to build a first-class industry, Jiang Copper has accelerated the implementation of the innovation-driven strategy, vigorously promoted the upgrading of intelligent manufacturing, and accelerated the integrated application of industrial Internet, 5G, big data and other advanced technologies in subordinate mines and smelters. Intelligent factory and big data construction are both selected as national cases. In Jiangtong, the digitization rate of key equipment in the smelting link and the automatic collection rate of production data have reached more than 90%, realizing the intellectual couplet of production equipment, the intelligence of production process and the wisdom of production personnel; the intelligent mining model is emerging, which is composed of digital mining platform, three-dimensional visualization platform and the third generation mining vehicle network platform.
In order to establish a first-class mechanism, Jiangtong continued to deepen the reform, vigorously promoted and improved the reform of the "hard bone and deep water area", and further adjusted and optimized the management and control mode and the headquarters organization. Wind control, great coordination, position system, comprehensive budget, standard creation, corporate culture "six in one" work has been comprehensively promoted and deepened, and the mixed ownership reform, employee stock ownership pilot reform and market-oriented reform have been carried out in subsidiaries. A series of reforms have greatly released the driving force and vitality of reform and development. by the end of 2020, Jiang Copper had basically completed the "two hundred actions" in the reform of state-owned enterprises and was rated as A-level "two hundred enterprises" by the relevant departments of state-owned enterprises under the State Council. at present, we are steadily promoting the "three-year action" for the reform of the two major state-owned enterprises.
In order to form a first-class openness, under the guidance of the strategic policy of "copper-oriented, strong non-ferrous, diversified development, and global layout", Jiang Copper has gradually accelerated its pace of "going out". Participate in the acquisition of Afghanistan Aynak copper mine, investment in Zambia, acquisition of Kazakh tungsten mine, holding Canada first Quantum …. Jiang Copper has successively established mining bases in China, Peru, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan and other countries, and established investment, marketing, financial and trade networks covering the whole country and overseas.
After more than 40 years of development, Jiang copper quality and quantity go hand in hand, internal and external coordinated development, and continue to move forward to the high end of the global industrial chain, innovation chain and value chain.
