Ministry of Finance: Japan's copper exports fell 18.9% in May from a year earlier

Japan's refined copper exports fell 18.9 per cent from a year earlier to 47562510 kilograms after customs clearance in May, according to figures released by Japan's Ministry of Finance on Tuesday.

From January to May, the country's refined copper exports were 254995669 kilograms, down 8 per cent from a year earlier.

The refined copper export is the sum of cathode copper, copper ingots and other kinds of copper exports.

Among them, the total export of cathode copper in May was 43106822 kg, down 21.6% from the same period last year. The cumulative export volume from January to May was 235555834 kg, down 8.1% from the same period last year.
