Global primary aluminum production in May was 5.744 million tons, up 5.78% from the same period last year.

Global primary aluminium production rebounded to 5.744 million tons in May 2021, up 3.63 per cent from 5.543 million tons in April, according to the International Aluminium Association. An increase of 5.78% compared with the same period last year.

From January to May, global primary aluminum production totaled 27.942 million tons, up 4.35 percent from 26.777 million tons in the same period last year.

China is the world's largest producer of primary aluminium, producing 3.344 million tons in May, up 3.98 per cent from a month earlier and 9 per cent year-on-year. From January to May, China produced 16.211 million tons of primary aluminum, compared with 15.113 million tons in the same period last year.
