According to customs data, China's rare earth metal exports were 884.454 mt in April, an increase of 9.53% year-on-year and 8.28% month-on-month. Exports totalled 2,771.348 mt from January to April, up 8.49% year-on-year.

SHANGHAI, June 1 (SMM) – According to customs data, China's rare earth metal exports were 884.454 mt in April, an increase of 9.53% year-on-year and 8.28% month-on-month. Exports totalled 2,771.348 mt from January to April, up 8.49% year-on-year. Japan, the United States, the Netherlands, Italy, Brazil, India, Canada, and Vietnam were the top eight export destinations, with exports to these countries accounting for nearly 95% of China's total rare earth metal export volume in April.

From the perspective of the structure of rare earth metals exported, top six metals: lanthanum metal (390 mt), followed by neodymium metal (44 mt), cerium metal (40 mt), praseodymium metal (1.25 mt), and terbium metal (0.8 mt) and yttrium metal (0.11 mt).

Exports of other rare earth metals and mixed rare earth metals stood at 34.19 mt and 374.1 mt, respectively.

Provinces exporting lanthanum metal in April include Inner Mongolia, Beijing, Jiangsu, Gansu, Guangdong, Ningxia, Shandong, Shanghai and Jiangxi. Inner Mongolia ranks No.1 for exports of lanthanum metal, accounting for 56.41% or 220 mt of the total exports in China.

The top five exporting provinces of rare earth oxide (including unspecified rare earth oxide and single rare earth oxide) include Inner Mongolia (542.468 mt), Jiangxi (236.65 mt), Jiangsu (208.943 mt), Fujian (174.225 mt) and Shandong (139.71 mt).

On unspecified rare earth oxide, China exported to 38 countries in April, with Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Netherlands and Italy the top five destinations.

On single rare earth oxide, exports of lanthanum oxide, yttrium oxide, cerium oxide, neodymium oxide and terbium oxide were the highest in April, which were mainly exported to Japan, the United States, South Korea, Brazil and Norway. Export volume of lanthanum oxide fell 1.29% MoM to 770.433 mt, mainly exported to the United States, Japan, South Korea, Brazil and Italy.
