Nickel ore inventories at Chinese ports rose 234,000 wmt to 5.77 million wmt

Nickel ore inventories across all Chinese ports increased 234,000 wmt from May 14 to 5.77 million wmt as of May 21, showed SMM data.

SHANGHAI, May 21 (SMM) — Nickel ore inventories across all Chinese ports increased 234,000 wmt from May 14 to 5.77 million wmt as of May 21, showed SMM data.

In Ni content, the stocks stood at 45,500 mt.

SMM data also showed that nickel ore stocks across seven major Chinese ports increased 74,000 wmt during the same period to 4.27 million wmt.

Some ports still had the problem of slow unloading and holding in port, while nickel ore inventories at Chinese ports were still on the rise. Recently, it is the peak period of nickel ore export, and the port inventories will continue to accumulate. However, nickel ore inventories posted slow increase as the cargoes were held in port.
