SHANGHAI, May 14 (SMM) – Social inventories of silicon metal across Huangpu port, Kunming city and Tianjin port declined 8,000 mt from the previous week to 39,000 mt as of Friday May 14, SMM data showed. Trades were active in the silicon metal market. Stocks in Kunming were shipped to Huangpu port; inventories declined at Tianjin port; output declined in Yunnan due to power consumption restrictions, and operating rates were low in Sichuan amid a normal-water period.
Silicon social inventories are expected to continue to shrink in the short term.
