Secondary lead smelters operating rates rebounded this week

SHANGHAI, Apr 30 (SMM) – Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou gained 5.19 percentage points from a week ago to 50.73% as of April 30 as Anhui Huabo and Camel recovered from maintenance, showed an SMM survey. (Operating rates last week were revised to 45.54% as Jiangsu New Chunxing’s output was corrected.)

The average operating rate in Anhui jumped 10.18 percentage points on the week to 49.87%.

Jiangxi Zhenyu restored part of production as environmental inspections eased. Smelters in Anhui and Jiangxi are expected to return to normal production next week as environmental inspection teams will leave by then, which will boost operating rates.
