Nickel ore inventories at Chinese ports fell 322,000 wmt to 5.3 million wmt

Nickel ore inventories across all Chinese ports decreased 322,000 wmt from April 16 to 5.3 million wmt as of April 23, showed SMM data.

SHANGHAI, Apr 23 (SMM) — Nickel ore inventories across all Chinese ports decreased 322,000 wmt from April 16 to 5.3 million wmt as of April 23, showed SMM data. 

In Ni content, the stocks rose 1,250 mt to 41,800 mt. 

SMM data also showed that nickel ore stocks across seven major Chinese ports decreased 302,000 wmt during the same period to 3.94 million wmt. 

With the centralised delivery of nickel ore at ports, the arrivals at port increased, while the smelters taken more delivery. Nickel ore inventories at Chinese ports will maintain the upward trend, and the inventories may increase sharply in May/June.
