[challenge Intel Nvidia to announce the launch of the first CPU] on Monday, local time, Nvidia announced at the GTC 2021 conference that it would launch the first server, CPU. According to Nvidia, the Swiss National Supercomputing Center and the U.S. Department of Energy Alamos National Laboratory will be the first users of Grace. Nvidia says the Grace-based system will perform 10 times faster than the Nvidia DGX-based system, which is considered to be the most advanced system in the world.

Looking at the global CPU market, Intel has maintained its dominant position for many years. Although it can't be shaken for the time being, Intel is also feeling the pressure from server chip makers such as AMD and Arm. Today, Nvidia has joined the challenger.

On Monday, local time, Nvidia announced at GTC 2021 that it would launch its first server, CPU. The CPU was named Grace, after the late computer pioneer Grace Hopper.

Nvidia designed Grace based on Arm technology. It is worth mentioning that Nvidia is acquiring Arm from Softbank Corp. Group. Last September, Nvidia announced a $40 billion acquisition of Arm, a deal still under way.

From the current market share, Nvidia is a well-deserved leader in the graphics card industry, and they are no longer satisfied with the graphics card market, want to compete with Intel for this fat piece of the CPU market.

However, it is not so easy for Nvidia to challenge Intel, which still holds more than 90 per cent of the CPU market.

Nvidia also said its first-quarter revenue would be higher than its previous estimate of $5.3 billion.

Intel shares fell more than 4% after the news, while Nvidia pulled up in a straight line. As of press time, Intel fell 4.34% in intraday trading, while Nvidia rose 6.23%.
