Is it "restless" or real demand? At the beginning of 2021, the whole automobile industry seems to have entered a period of restlessness. No matter traditional car companies or new car manufacturers have entered "robbing wars" one after another, news of high-level changes continues to be heard. According to the incomplete statistics of Gaishi Automobile, there were more than 80 personnel adjustments in the first quarter of 2021, almost the level of the whole year of 2019.

New forces and smart cars continue to rob people.

While the new power and smart cars have received repeated financing and attracted the attention of capital, the field has also ushered in the most exciting part of the inflow of talents. Among them, the one who has attracted the most attention is undoubtedly Chen Xuefeng, who enthusiastically joined the "Faraday Future (FF) League of Legends".

It is understood that Chen Xuefeng, 45, has nearly 20 years of experience in the automotive industry and is a rare professional manager in the industry. In 2015, Chen Xuefeng was also known as the "youngest Oriental head of the joint venture" for serving as the executive vice president of Chery Jaguar Land Rover.

It takes courage and determination to give up your current position and choose to join FF, which has just got out of debt. Chen Xuefeng's appointment as CEO, of FF China will be fully responsible for all FF China-related business, including related project landing, production strategy, local product development and user ecological construction.

Also like Chen Xuefeng's choice, Foxconn and Hengchi also gained key executives to join in the first quarter.

After partnering with a number of car companies, Foxconn brought in Zheng Xianchong (Jack Cheng), a veteran of the car circle. Foxconn Group, parent company of Foxconn, announced that Zheng Xiancong, former co-founder and executive vice president of Foxconn, officially joined Hon Hai Electric vehicle hardware Development platform MIH Alliance as CEO, responsible for MIH alliance planning, and in charge of hardware department and platform specification definition.

In the field of smart cars, there are actually a number of insiders involved. Great Wall Motor, in particular, continues to increase its "Ten Thousand talents Plan", and its subsidiaries have gained two generals in the first year of 2021.

On February 22, it was learned from insiders of Great Wall that Gu Weihao, general manager of Baidu's intelligent car division, had joined Maomo Zhihang, a subsidiary of Great Wall Automobile, and partnered with Zhang Kai, head of intelligent driving of Great Wall Automobile, and Zhen Longbao, director of intelligent driving of Great Wall Automobile, to be responsible for the research and development of intelligent driving of Great Wall Automobile.

It is understood that Gu Weihao has worked at Baidu for 16 years, has been committed to self-driving and car intelligence research and development, has been responsible for Baidu L3 self-driving, car networking, mapping and other services. Gu Weihao also stressed to the outside world the value of mass production and landing of self-driving models, and said that the future development trend of self-driving is the deep integration of Internet enterprises and traditional automobile industry manufacturers. Joining Great Wall Motor this time is undoubtedly to find the stage of its dream.

The Great Wall car Salon Zhihang also ushered in a young "tough player"-Wenfei. After 994 days at Great Wall, Wenfei has a new identity. On March 4, Great Wall Motor announced its personnel appointment. Wen Fei, General Manager of Harvard Brand, was promoted to CEO, of Great Wall Automobile Salon Zhihang, which is in charge of all business management of Sharon Zhihang. It is understood that Wenfei led the successful transformation of Great Wall Motor and was promoted many times before, but the challenge Wenfei faces this time is not simple.

At present, none of the new energy independent brands of traditional car companies have achieved real success. It is impossible to sell new energy models with the idea of selling fuel cars. Baidu cars are also bold to use young people. On January 11, Baidu announced its entry into the automobile industry as a vehicle manufacturer and formed a joint venture with Geely Holdings Group, the new company's chief executive is Xia Yiping, former co-founder and chief technology officer of mobike.

It is understood that before joining mobike, Xia Yiping had the entrepreneurial experience of "electric car" in 2014 and boasted that he was the first person in China to announce that he wanted to be an electric car. Although he took the lead, he didn't do his best at that time, which led to the abortion of the project. Seven years later, through Baidu smart electric car back to the "original dream, the original track", I think this time Xia Yiping will go all out.

With the successive cross-border entry of Internet companies such as Huawei and Xiaomi, as well as the mass production of smart cars, the talent gap in the field of new forces and smart cars will continue to enlarge for a long time to come, and "robbing people" will also become a microcosm of the trend of the whole industry.

There has been a major adjustment at the group level, and the continuous transition of the old and new leadership is under way.

Among the large-scale personnel changes in the past year, FAW and Dongfeng are also two major central enterprises that have to be mentioned.

On February 25, FAW Group officially announced a notice on the adjustment of the new leadership: Qin Huanming stepped down from the post of director and deputy secretary of the party committee of the group company because of his age, and was replaced by Wang Guoqiang, deputy general manager of the group company. Later, Ma Zhenshan, former executive deputy general manager of FAW-Volkswagen sales Company, said on his personal social platform that he had been transferred back to work in FAW Group, and Sun Zhiyang, deputy general manager of FAW Group, also bid farewell to FAW and took office in Guangdong Province.

At the same time, Dongfeng Company has carried out a larger-scale personnel transfer. When Li Shaochen retired at his age, Yang Qing succeeded Li Shaochuan and was promoted to director, general manager and deputy secretary of the party committee of Dongfeng Company. After this re-adjustment, Yang Qingcheng is the second-in-command of Dongfeng Company, and "Zhu Yang match" is formally formed.

Like Yang Qing, Chen Hao was entrusted with an important task. On March 8, Dongfeng announced a new round of personnel adjustment: Zhou Xianpeng will no longer hold the post of executive vice president of Dongfeng Automobile Co., Ltd. (referred to as: Dongfeng Co., Ltd.). Chen Hao, the former vice president of Dongfeng Co., Ltd., joined the core leadership team of Dongfeng Co., Ltd. as executive vice president of Dongfeng Co., Ltd.; Guo Tao was appointed vice president of Dongfeng Co., Ltd.

In fact, Jianghuai Motor is also in the stage of handover between the old and the new leadership.

On March 29, it was reported that the change of coach of Jianghuai Automobile was imminent. After seven years at the helm of Jianghuai Automobile, Anjin, 64, the current party committee secretary and chairman of Jianghuai Automobile, is about to retire. Xiang Xingchu will take over and take over as head of Jianghuai Automobile.

At present, Jianghuai is experiencing a difficult period of poor performance and long-term losses, and for Xiang Xingchu, this appointment is no small pressure and challenge. On January 5, the electrification process of Volkswagen (Anhui) went further, and the new management team was officially unveiled. Among them, Dr. Feng Sihan, CEO of Volkswagen Group (China), was appointed CEO of Volkswagen (Anhui), Dr. Mu Yong served as Chief Financial Officer, Dr. Luhrman served as Chief Technology Officer, Schneider served as Chief Manufacturing Officer, and Shao Jian served as Chief Human Resources Officer.

With the formation of a new management team, Volkswagen (Anhui) is promoting the group's electric travel strategy in China at full speed. After SAIC Volkswagen and FAW-Volkswagen, Volkswagen (Anhui) will become the third joint venture of Volkswagen Group to produce pure electric models based on the MEB platform in China. According to official sources, Volkswagen (Anhui) plans to invest more than 20 billion yuan to expand its R & D center and renovate its production workshop. The new plant is expected to be completed by the end of 2022, creating an annual production capacity of 350000 new energy vehicles. The first model is scheduled to go into production in 2023.

At the level of brand building, in addition to the Evergrande mentioned above, BYD has also made a major adjustment in its organizational structure.

On February 2, BYD set up the dynasty net sales department, with Lu Tian as the general manager; set up the e-net sales department, with Zhang Zhuo as the general manager; set up the brand and public relations department, with Li Yunfei as the general manager; and set up the after-sales service department. Gao Zi became the general manager; Zhao Changjiang, the former general manager of automobile sales, will be transferred to a high-end brand and be responsible for the preparatory work.

With the adjustment of organizational structure, BYD's strategic layout is gradually clear. Further division of the product sequence will help BYD to "fight up and down", make efforts in the whole field, and seize more market share.

Frequent personnel adjustments seem turbulent, but after careful consideration, they are all aimed at optimizing management for the actual situation of each business sector.

And the future has come, the personnel changes of car companies will continue. "restlessness" is not suitable for the development of enterprises and industries, and it is also the task of these car companies to find a suitable way in line with the direction of development.
