When Tesla chose to build a super factory in Texas, the company promised to create at least 5000 medium-skilled jobs there to meet the needs of its counterpart economy, according to foreign media reports. On April 1st, Tesla CEO Elon Musk (Elon Musk) tweeted and double fulfilled his promise.
"the Texas superfactory will need more than 10000 employees by 2022 alone," says Mr Musk. The Tesla job search website posted more than 280new jobs in Texas superfactories, ranging from construction-related jobs and design to production and engineering positions.
Tesla plans to produce Model Y, Model 3, Cybertruck, Tesla Semi and batteries at the plant, and is expected to increase production of most products by the end of 2022. Once the plant is operating at full capacity, the plant is likely to employ more staff.
Tesla also seems to insist on creating thousands of medium-skilled jobs. As we all know, some of Tesla's positions do not require a college degree. Chris Reilly, recruitment and labour development manager for Tesla, said the company was "considering recruiting high school graduates so that they can continue their studies while Tesla works". According to the Austin Business Daily, Tesla has established partnerships with Austin Community College (Austin Community College), Houston-Tillotson University (Huston-Tillotson University), University of Texas (University of Texas) and Del Valle Independent School District (Del Valle Independent School District).
In June 2020, a proposal from the Tesla superfactory showed that its Cybertruck Factory would create as many as 9000 jobs in Texas. In November of the same year, members of the (East Austin Growth Summit) team at the second annual East Austin growth Summit estimated that the plant could bring nearly 15000 jobs to this "lone star state", including jobs indirectly generated by the day-to-day operation of the factory. For example, some suppliers may move to Texas with Tesla.
