Plate manufacturer South Asia Electronic Materials (Kunshan) Co., Ltd. said that due to the three major CCL raw materials LME copper, copper foil processing fees, epoxy resin and fiberglass cloth prices continue to rise and tight supply, the company plans to increase the price, the increase is 15-20% of the total transaction amount, effective on April 1, 2021. Dongguan Lianmao issued a notice that the company sheet metal and PP increased by 15-20%, and the new price will take effect from April 1, 2021.
Industry insiders said that electronic copper foil and epoxy resin are expected to continue to maintain a rising price trend, electronic glass fiber cloth prices will be loose in the third quarter, overall copper clad laminate cost pressure is still large. On the other hand, the demand in the lower reaches of the CCL industry chain, such as consumer electronics, 5G base stations and automotive electronics, has increased significantly, which is also the key factor driving the price rise of CCL. It is understood that at present, most copper clad laminate factories have achieved cost transfer, and some have higher premiums (higher gross profit margin). At present, the visibility of copper clad laminate orders is high, ranging from one month to four months, with an average visibility of 2-3 months; while the delivery period is extended from 1 week to 1 month, and the market is extremely hot. Some industry insiders said that the copper clad laminate industry is expected to be in a high demeanor at least until the second quarter of this year, and the price increase may continue.
