Review of two standards drafted by Baotou aluminum owners

Recently, the national and non-ferrous metal industry standards drafted by Baotou aluminum owners have successfully passed the examination of the National Standardization Management Committee and the National Nonferrous Metals Standardization Technical Committee. Among them, the non-ferrous metals industry standard YS/T 806-2020 "determination of element content in chemical analysis of aluminum and aluminum alloy by X-ray fluorescence spectrometry" has been issued and implemented, and the national standard GB/T 20975.24-2020 "methods for chemical analysis of aluminum and aluminum alloy part 24: determination of total rare earth content" will be implemented on April 1st, 2021.

The two standards adopted in this review have replaced the previous old standards, and a total of 17 new technical contents have been revised and improved after Baotou Aluminum Industry's four-year test. A total of 15 items were revised and improved in the national standard GB/T 20975.24-2020 "methods for Chemical Analysis of Aluminum and Aluminum Alloys-part 24: determination of Total rare Earth content", including 5 items such as the requirements for analytical reagents and water, and 9 items such as tribromoarsenazo spectrophotometry, oxalate gravimetric method and precipitant in oxalate gravimetric method. The release and implementation of the new standards will lay a solid foundation for leading the high-quality development of the industry in related fields. In the standard of YS/T 806-2020 "determination of element content in chemical analysis of aluminum and aluminum alloy" in non-ferrous metals industry, Baotou Aluminum Industry makes use of the quantitative relationship between the X-ray fluorescence intensity of elements to be tested and the content of elements to be tested, uses calibration curve or equation analysis, and corrects the interference effect between elements, so that the number of measured elements is on the original basis. 20 kinds of elements such as silicon, iron, copper, magnesium and manganese are added, which greatly improves the detection efficiency.

At present, the English version of the national standard "Electrical Round Aluminum Rod" drafted by Baotou Aluminum owners is under way and is expected to be completed in June 2022.
