SHANGHAI, Mar 18 (SMM) — According to SMM survey, the current supply of zinc ore in the market remained tight. Inventory level of raw material at smelters in Shaanxi, Yunnan and Sichuan was running low, while demand for zinc ore was bullish last week. However, Guangxi and Hunan have increased the procurement price to 4,000 yuan/mt in metal content amid concentrated arrivals of imported zinc ore. The amount of ore booked in Q2 was not significantly higher, which may cause imports in Q2 to decline. Zinc ore remained in tight supply, and inventories of zinc ore at Lianyungang fell to 122,000 mt.
