Aluminium billet inventories rose 25,100 mt on week

SMM data showed that aluminium billet stocks across the five major consumption areas — Foshan, Wuxi, Huzhou, Changzhou and Nanchang — in China built up 25,100 mt from a week ago to 239,300 mt as of Wednesday February 25.

SHANGHAI, Feb 25 (SMM) – Shipments of aluminium billet in China were limited as the downstream still did not resume normal work. Inventories of aluminium billet in China continued to increase this week.

SMM data showed that aluminium billet stocks across the five major consumption areas — Foshan, Wuxi, Huzhou, Changzhou and Nanchang — in China built up 25,100 mt from a week ago to 239,300 mt as of Wednesday February 25.

Inventories in Nanchang decreased 1,000 mt, while inventories in the other four warehouses increased to varying degrees. Among them, Foshan increased the most, reaching 19,000 mt, followed by Wuxi with an increase of 8,800 mt.
