[49.7 billion yuan SMIC Capital Phase I project is expected to be completed in 2024, with a monthly production capacity of about 100000 12-inch wafers] according to Beijing Yizhuang official sources, the first phase of SMIC's 12-inch integrated circuit wafer and IC packaging project (hereinafter referred to as "SMIC Capital Phase I Project") is under construction in full swing.

According to Beijing Yizhuang official news, the first phase of SMIC's 12-inch integrated circuit wafer and integrated circuit packaging project (hereinafter referred to as SMIC Capital Phase I project) is under construction like a raging fire.

Yan Chao, project manager of SMIC's Beijing Phase I project management department, said, "We started construction on January 8, and none of the five subcontract teams stopped work during the Spring Festival. At present, the project is laying a total of 4887 foundation piles, of which 3200 have been completed. All of them are expected to be completed by the end of February."

It is reported that the construction scale of SMIC Capital Phase I project is about 240000 square meters, including FAB3P1 production plant and supporting buildings, structures and so on. The project, with a total investment of about 49.7 billion yuan, will be built in two phases. the first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed in 2024 and will achieve a production capacity of about 100000 12-inch wafers per month.

It is worth mentioning that on February 3, the Beijing Economic and technological Development Zone held project signing activities, and a total of 129 key projects signed the "entry Agreement" by means of on-site signing and 5G cloud signing. SMIC Capital Project, with a single investment of 7.6 billion US dollars, was built on the ground.

According to previous reports from Ji WeChat, check shows that on December 7, 2020, SMIC Beijing Integrated Circuit Manufacturing (Beijing) Co., Ltd. was established. Shareholders include: SMIC International Holdings Co., Ltd., Beijing Yizhuang International Investment and Development Co., Ltd., and National Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund Phase II Co., Ltd.

On December 4, 2020, SMIC announced that SMIC, the national integrated circuit fund II and Yizhuang Guotou had signed a joint venture contract to jointly establish a joint venture. According to the announcement at that time, SMIC was responsible for the development and operation of the joint venture, with a total investment of US $7.6 billion and a registered capital of US $5 billion.
