






Recently, the cobalt-free cathode material, which is the core material of honeycomb energy cobalt-free battery, has been officially put off the production line in Changzhou material factory. This is also the world's first batch of 10-ton cobalt-free cathode materials.

According to the head of the company's cathode material research and development, honeycomb energy cobalt-free cathode materials research and development began in May 2018, the R & D team in the initial stage mainly focused on the synthesis process, coating, doping and other aspects to do a lot of work. After a year of unremitting efforts, the cobalt-free cathode material was successfully developed and laboratory sample A was completed in June 2019. Since then, the team continued to conduct pilot-scale tests on the pilot test line, focusing on a series of rigorous quality and performance verification and optimization of temperature curve, synthetic atmosphere, loading capacity, etc., and successfully completed the design and development of sample B in April 2020. and the preparation of tonnage product power supply core development began in June 2020.
In December 2020, the first phase of the honeycomb energy cathode material Changzhou plant has an annual output of 5000 tons to complete the equipment installation and commissioning, and formally put it into use. The production of cobalt-free cathode materials began in Changzhou factory in January 2021, and the trial production of 10-ton products was completed.
The batch release of 10-ton cobalt-free cathode material is an important milestone in the research and development of honeycomb energy cobalt-free battery, which lays a solid foundation for the next production line SOP. According to the company's previous development plan, Honeycomb's first cobalt-free batteries will be mass produced in June 2021.
