Installed capacity of LFP accounted for over 50%` in December

SHANGHAI, Jan 27 (SMM) — In December, the installed capacity of LFP by leading car companies accounted for over 50%, and major battery plants increased demand for LFP.

Among the installed capacity of passenger vehicles in Q4 2020, LFP batteries proportion increased sharply in leading carmakers as best-selling models such as BYD Han, Hongguang MINI, Tesla Model 3, and Chery eQ1 were equipped with LFP batteries.

BYD Han and Baojun series only support LFP batteries while Tesla Model 3, Hongguang MINI and Chery eQ1 support both ternary and LFP batteries. With the improvement of safety, battery technology, the proportion of car models equipped with LFP batteries has increased month by month amid low prices.
