Secondary lead smelters operating rates dropped 0.3 percentage point this week

SHANGHAI, Jan 22 (SMM) — Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 47.5% in the week, slightly down 0.3 percentage point from the previous week, an SMM survey showed.

The average operating rates remained unchanged on the week at 47.1%, 33.3% and 45.1% in Anhui, Jiangsu and Guizhou respectively.

The operating rate in Henan dropped 1.7 percentage points on the week to 70.2%, mainly due to the slight production reduction in Jinli.

The secondary lead refineries such as Xingwang, Zhenyu, and Huijin in Jiangxi, Xinsheng Environmental Protection and Xinyu in Guangdong, and Hebei Shichang, had suspended production for a holiday due to the pandemic. Henan Xincheng Power Producer was suspended for a week due to environmental control.

The newly expanded secondary lead refineries in Anhui such as Camel, Chaowei and Tianchang are expected to maintain normal production during the Chinese New Year.
