Aluminium inventories to increase January-February

SHANGHAI, Jan 15 (SMM)—As of January 11, domestic social aluminium inventories, including SHFE warrants, stood at 676,000 mt, an accumulation of 80,000 mt. The accumulation of inventory in Wuxi and Nanhai is noticeable. Stocks fell 4,000 mt in Shanghai, and stocks in Wuxi increased 79,000 mt. Inventories accumulated 19,000 mt in Nanhai and 2,000 mt in Tianjin. Inventories fell 5,000 mt in Hangzhou and 11,000 mt in Gongyi. The accumulation of inventory will continue from January to February in view of increased cast aluminium ingot supply and weaker downstream demand due to the seasonal factor.
