In response to the national "Belt and Road Initiative" initiative and deepening international production capacity cooperation, on December 22nd, 2020, Guiyang Aluminum magnesium Design and Research Institute Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Guiyang Institute") and Huafeng Group signed the first phase of Indonesia Huaqing Aluminum Co., Ltd. Aluminum and electricity integration project 1 million tons / year electrolytic aluminum (500kA) and 500000 tons / year pre-baked anode design project officially started. This project is the first time that China's 500kA aluminum electrolysis technology has been exported overseas, which provides resource guarantee for the healthy development of China's aluminum industry, and is a milestone for Guiyang Institute and the whole non-ferrous industry. The launch of the project marks that Guiyang Institute has stepped onto a new level in the process of vigorously implementing the international market strategy and deepening international production capacity cooperation.

Qiao Zhihui, vice president of Huafeng Group, and Lu Weining, party committee secretary and executive director of Guiyang Hospital, attended the kick-off meeting and put forward requirements and good expectations for project design and technical services at the meeting. lay a solid foundation for the follow-up construction of the project.

Indonesia Huaqing Aluminum Co., Ltd. is a joint venture between Huafeng Group and Qingshan Industrial Co., Ltd. the project is located in Qingshan Industrial Park on Sulawesi Island, Indonesia. The overall plan includes investment in the construction of an annual output of 4 million tons of alumina, 2 million tons of electrolytic aluminum, 1 million tons of pre-baked anodes and supporting 4780MW cogeneration units. The first phase of the project consists of 1 million tons / year electrolytic aluminum, 500000 tons / year pre-baked anode project and 4 × 380MW cogeneration generating set and supporting public auxiliary facilities. After the completion of the project, Indonesia Huaqing Aluminum Co., Ltd. will become the largest aluminum enterprise in Southeast Asia.

Over the years, Guiyang Institute has always adhered to the values of "responsibility, integrity, openness and excellence", continuously enhance the company's degree of internationalization, establish brands in overseas markets, and realize technology opening and integration. following the national "Belt and Road Initiative" initiative and the international production capacity cooperation strategy, it has spread to more than 20 countries and regions, including India, Russia, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan, with a cooperation contract value of more than 5 billion US dollars. The company not only has the successful practice of contracting India BALCO Aluminum Plant, which represents the breakthrough of zero output of aluminum smelting technology in China, but also has the bold exploration of designing the largest one-time construction of 1.25 million tons of electrolytic aluminum India VENDANTA project and 3 million tons of alumina LANJIGARH project in the world. In addition, the company also signed a can furnace design and supply contract with Rain Carbon Limited, the world's largest petroleum coke calcination company.

In early 2020, in the face of the impact of the sudden novel coronavirus epidemic, Guiyang Hospital withstood the test and successfully signed a contract for the design of 4 million tons of alumina in India, achieving a "good start". Subsequently, the Indian Rain Carbon calcined oil coke pot furnace project with the largest overseas production capacity designed and supplied by Guiyang Institute successfully ignited and dried the oven. In the third quarter of 2020, Guiyang Hospital signed a project design contract for negative materials with South Korea's Posco Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., which achieved a breakthrough in new countries and new owners of the company's international business.

Just two days after the launch of the first phase design of Huaqing Aluminum Integration Project in Indonesia by Huafeng Group, on Christmas Eve 2020, Guiyang Hospital received a letter of intent from the Indian owner to award the design contract for the BALCO500kA electrolytic aluminum expansion project. The successful signing of the project marks the final landing of the project that has been followed for 4 years, and once again exports China's 500kA technology to the country, putting a perfect end to the overseas business development of Guiyang Institute in 2020, and laying a solid foundation for the continued struggle in 2021.

Baotou Launches $500M Rare Earth Aluminum Project, Aiming for 100,000 mt Annual Output
Recently, construction officially began on the high-end rare earth aluminum alloy project in the Baotou Jinshan Economic Development Zone, with a total investment of approximately 500 million yuan and annual output of 100,000 mt. The project will be advanced in an orderly manner in two phases. Phase I will build a 30,000 mt high-end rare earth aluminum alloy production line, focusing on technology R&D and capacity release to rapidly achieve scaled-up production. Phase II will expand capacity by 70,000 mt, further extend, supplement, and strengthen the industrial chain, optimize the product mix, increase added value, and support Guyang in building a distinctive high-end rare earth aluminum alloy industrial cluster.
