Guoxuan Hi-Tech Conference: iron-lithium energy density 210Wh/kg new product release

On January 8, the 10th Science and Technology Conference of Guoxuan Hi-Tech was held in Hefei. It is reported that with the theme of "diligence in the right way and the supreme good", the Congress was attended by many elite representatives from first-class scientific research institutes, research institutions, institutions of higher learning, domestic mainstream car companies and core suppliers from China, Germany, the United States and other countries.

Niu Lutao, director of the Department of Economic Information of Anhui Province, Lu Jun, vice mayor of Hefei, and Wang Liangui, director of the management committee of Hefei New Station High-tech Zone, attended the opening activities. Li Jie, secretary of the party committee and chairman of Guoxuan Hi-Tech, delivered a welcome speech.

At the conference on the morning of the 8th, Xu Xingwu, executive vice president of Guoxuan Hi-Tech Engineering Research Institute, introduced two major innovations of Guoxuan Hi-Tech in 2020 around materials and system integration: lithium iron phosphate 210Wh/Kg soft package single battery and JTM battery.

According to Xu Xingwu, there are three key technological innovations in lithium iron phosphate 210Wh/Kg soft package single battery: high performance lithium iron phosphate material independently developed and produced, high gram capacity silicon anode material and advanced pre-lithiation technology.

It is reported that lithium iron phosphate 210Wh/Kg soft package monomer battery, the monomer energy density has reached the level of ternary NCM5 system. According to the battery network judgment, in view of the advantages of lithium iron phosphate compared with ternary materials in cost, safety and cycle performance, the product has been comparable to NCM523, in energy density and will be a strong competitor for mid-range models.

It is worth mentioning that the 210Wh/kg lithium iron phosphate battery unveiled by Guoxuan Tech should be the product with the highest monomer energy density in the lithium iron phosphate system products that have been unveiled in the world, which also reflects the technical strength of Guoxuan Tech in the field of lithium iron phosphate.

At the level of system integration, Guoxuan Hi-Tech also launched JTM technology in 2020. According to Xu Xingwu, compared with the published CTP and blade batteries, the special feature of JTM integration technology is that based on JTM integration technology can achieve "one production line for all products, one product for all platforms."

Prior to this, Xu Xingwu introduced in an interview with the battery network that the J of JTM is the roll core, M is the module, and JTM is directly placed in the module with the coil core to complete the production at one time. "this process has the advantages of low production cost and simple manufacturing process, and is easy to be standardized." Xu Xingwu said that whether it is the Volkswagen MEB platform, or moderately flexible large modules, JTM is very adaptable.

Xu Xingwu pointed out in his speech that JTM has five revolutionary advantages: greatly streamlined battery materials, greatly simplified manufacturing process, greatly improved battery performance, significantly reduced comprehensive cost, and greatly increased battery package adaptability. Battery China will also continue to track developments related to JTM integration technology and further interpret it.

During the conference, Cai Yi, president of Guoxuan Hi-Tech Engineering Research Institute, made an annual work report, which informed the latest cooperation progress between Volkswagen and Guoxuan Hi-Tech.

Cai Yi revealed in the report that the total number of Volkswagen Guoxuan joint project team currently exceeds 70 people, of which Volkswagen stationed experts covering module design, manufacturing process, quality, testing and other functions.

Cai Yi also revealed that the MEB project jointly developed by the two sides takes into account the standard MEB module design of ternary and iron-lithium chemical systems, and the goal is to achieve mass production and supply by 2023.

It is reported that the Guoxuan Hi-Tech Conference has been successfully held for nine times since 2011, attracting many domestic and foreign experts and scholars to participate in the conference, and has become an important platform for cooperation, exchange and sharing in the new energy industry. This two-day science and technology conference, the agenda includes keynote speeches, product conferences, new energy economy forum, scientific and technological achievements award evening, new energy innovation forum and so on.

Cheng Huiming, Sun Shigang, Chen Xianhui, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Yang Shanlin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and other big names attended the meeting. they gave keynote speeches on the challenge and research of using photocatalytic materials to produce green hydrogen and high specific energy secondary batteries, and shared new developments in battery science with participating experts and scholars to feel the pulse of the development of the new energy industry.

It is understood that by the end of December 2020, Guoxuan Hi-Tech had applied for a total of 4396 patents, including 2104 invention patents (including 127foreign patents), and 2525 authorized patents, of which 611 were authorized invention patents (including 54 foreign authorized invention patents). The total number of patent applications ranks in the forefront of the industry.
