Hydro completed its hydropower deal with Lyse on December 31st. The two companies merged power generation assets through the formation of a new company, Lyse Kraft DA, which includes Hydro's hydropower assets R ø ldal-SuldalKraft (RSK) and most of Lyse's power generation product portfolios.
Earlier, in October 2020, the two companies announced plans to merge some of their respective hydropower production projects in southern Norway.
Hydro owns 25.6 per cent of Lyse Kraft DA and 74.4 per cent of Lyse. The normal annual generating capacity of the newly established company is 9.5 TWh.
