Walking into the Zhongtian Hongyuan heat treatment workshop, a damaged roll attracted the reporter's stop. The repaired roll can be reused more than 6 times, and the repair cost is 40% of the cost of buying a new one, but its service life is 3 times longer than that of the new product, which not only saves the purchasing cost of the enterprise, but also saves 70% of the equipment maintenance time.

It is understood that rare earth thermal barrier coatings are coated with rare earth wear-resistant and heat-resistant materials on the surfaces of formed parts, such as bearings, rolls, gearing, etc. the core technology stems from the research results of Dr. Zhao Xiaofeng, a professor of the National Thousand talents Plan and Shanghai Jiaotong University. this technology breaks foreign monopolies, fills the gaps in domestic industries, and is widely used in aerospace, equipment manufacturing and other fields. At present, Zhongtian Hongyuan has become the domestic enterprise with the most complete surface treatment processes, such as ion implantation, powder coating, thermal spraying, laser cladding and so on.

In the field of "rare earth surface anti-wear strengthening and remanufacturing products", Zhongtian Hongyuan combines ion implantation technology with rare earths, through high-energy negative pressure, the elements are ionized to the metal surface, up to 2mm~3 mm, in the metal surface to form new elements, the product life is greatly increased than ordinary coating products, mainly used in aviation, aerospace and other precision parts production, this technology is still the first in China.

Terminal application "whole industry chain cluster"

The terminal application of rare earth in steel has always been the technical bottleneck to be broken through in Baotou rare earth industry. Zhongtian Hongyuan is committed to the R & D and production of "rare earth special alloy steel and new materials". Through the four-in-one cooperation mode of "industry-university-research and application", Zhongtian Hongyuan has carried out industrial production of this technology and continuously expanded the scope of application. The reporter came to the production line of rare earth special alloy steel in Zhongtian Hongyuan's whole industry chain. in the spacious workshop, the rare earth alloy steel balls produced one after another climbed and fell along with the conveyor belt like fireballs, making a clanging sound. At present, this is the fifth production line for fully automatic production of steel balls in China, with an annual production capacity of 100000 tons, from front-end smelting to terminal bar rolling and then to tapping balls. In order to seize the market opportunity, the production line was put into production in 2019, but due to financial constraints, it is only put into production at present, that is, the bar rolling stage, releasing only 20, 000 tons of production capacity, while the rare earth alloy steel bar needed for front-end production is mainly purchased from Baotou Iron and Steel Co., Ltd.

Liu Kangping said: "this is only a short-term practice of enterprises." Within five years, we plan to join hands with other private steel mills in Baotou to strengthen cooperation between colleges and enterprises, strengthen innovation, and strive to complete the production line at an early date, so as to gradually form an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of rare earth special alloy steel application products. "

At present, Zhongtian Hongyuan has established a joint R & D center for rare earth special alloy steel and new rare earth materials through cooperation with Baotou material Research Institute of Shanghai Jiaotou University, Baotou rare Earth Research and Development Center of Chinese Academy of Sciences, School of Materials and Metallurgy of Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology, Inner Mongolia Kyushu State Inspection Center, etc., to provide strong technical support for the enterprise's rare earth special alloy steel industrialization project.

He told reporters that because the technical level of many domestic parts is not up to the requirements, the relevant parts of many large-scale production equipment are imported, with high use costs and long maintenance cycle, which is bound to increase the operational burden of enterprises in the long run. "at present, through the research and development of rare earth special alloy steel, we are constantly expanding its application fields, developing new products that can compete with foreign countries, changing the situation in which industrial equipment in key areas is subject to human control, and realizing the localization of imported accessories."
