Abu Dhabi: Port Khalifa begins operation of the first batch of bauxite delivered to EGA alumina refinery

SMM12 March 28: a few days ago, the port of Khalifa, an important port in Abu Dhabi, launched a new facility and began its southern terminal operation. The first batch of bauxite currently shipped at the new port has been shipped to the Al-Taweelah alumina refinery of Global Aluminium (EGA) in the United Arab Emirates.

The recently completed phase I of the southern wharf has a 650m bank wall, including two berths and a wharf yard of 37000 square meters.

The upgrading and expansion of Port Khalifa has greatly improved the loading and unloading capacity of bulk and general cargo, as well as the transport efficiency of bauxite at the Abu Dhabi alumina refinery.
