SHANGHAI, Dec 18 (SMM) – Operating rates across licensed smelters of secondary lead in Jiangsu, Anhui, Henan and Guizhou averaged 54.1% in the week ended December 18, up 1 percentage point from the previous week, showed an SMM survey.

The average operating rate in Anhui lost 0.7 percentage point on the week to 46.4% as Anhui Dahua slightly cut output due to equipment maintenance.

Stepped-up production at Henan Jinli lifted local operating rate by 3.9 percentage points to 82.4%.

The average operating rate in Guizhou gained 3.3 percentage points to 72.1% as Dingxin ramped up production after environmental inspections.

The average operating rate remained unchanged at 33.3% in Jiangsu.

Operating rates are expected to be stable next week as the output recover at Anhui Dahua may be offset by possible output cuts at Henan Jinli caused by unstable equipment and shortages of battery scrap.
