SMM12 March 15: it is reported that, ASI (Aluminium Stewardship Initiative) recently welcomed the Northern Rio de Janeiro Mining Company (Minera Rio ã o Rio do Norte)) as a new member of production and transformation, bringing the total number of ASI members to 147.

The main goal of Minera ã oRio do Norte is to produce and supply bauxite that meets the quality specifications.

Guido Germani, chief executive of MRN, said it was an important decision for MRN to seek ASI certification because of the organization's strong commitment to sustainable bauxite production. The company, located in the middle of the Amazon in western Para, is constantly seeking to produce bauxite in a sustainable way. This is in line with ASI's goal of achieving sustainable development in the entire aluminum production value chain.
